Hi! I've been stretching daily for about two or three weeks now and want to start working on my actual splits (as opposed to stretches that are supposed to aid in getting there). I'm having a lot of trouble actually getting into one though, and was hoping someone might be able to recommend a technique to help me out. When I try to start standing and kind of slide into the split, my knee or ankle starts hurting. If I start with the back leg supported by it's knee, I only feel the stretch in the front of my leg before my flexibility ends or my hips end up not facing front.
