[Question] Is it a good idea to hold a stretch for very long time?

    So I can do my middle split but with some discomfort. Can I do my middle split and watch my phone while holding for 20-30 minutes (while going deeper when I don't feel the stretch) or should I just hold it for one minute?

    I do calf stretch while washing the dishes and it improved a lot. I'm holding a minute or two one side, then switching side. Repeat until the dishes are clean.

    Maybe look up yin yoga and try to do it that way.
