    Hi guys,

For some reason I seem to have serious trouble achieving the pancake/straddle splits. The thing is that after a year of stretching I finally achieved my middle splits and am a lot more flexible then I ever used to be. But for some reason there is still not a single inch progression than day one on the pancake splits. My upper body stays at a 90° angle and everything blocks, I just can't move forward. Any help or tips?

    Thanks in advance!

For some people it's the way the femur fits into the hip joint. Are you working your external rotation in your straddle? I also like to practice pelvic tilts in my straddle to get that anterior pelvic tilt going to facilitate the forward fold into pancake.

These kind of things are hard to diagnose (and I am not even an expert, mind you)
All I can say is that [this exercise]() helped me a lot recently. Maybe the rest of the video is also of interest for you.

    Good luck!
